Artsy Smock

Today has been quite a day! In addition to receiving some interesting news, I burned myself while steaming my shirt this morning. Ouchie! It took several hours for the pain to subside. I should be doing homework, but I have been wasting SO MUCH TIME on Pottermore! I finally got access, but since so many people are enthralled with it right now, every five clicks I get a “too much traffic” message. Yes, I’m a Harry Potter fanatic. :) I was placed in Ravenclaw!

This is one of my favorite shirts, but I don’t wear it a lot because I’m never quite sure HOW to wear it. I think I like it belted. This is the first time I’ve tried that. My mom wasn’t crazy about this shirt when I bought it – she said it looked like a smock or something? I like it because it’s artsy and different. I think the belt helps with the smock-y-ness.

I Like You!

I almost forgot to post today! Whoops. I’ve had a crazy busy day, and I have another busy stressful day tomorrow. This is a week that needs to go quickly. Pleaaaseee!

I wore grey today…surprised? My bracelet is jade – that’s color, right?

dress: Emmelee via Your Stuff; knit blazer: New York & Company via Mustard Seed (Bethesda resale store); boots: Star Ling via Nordstrom (sale!); earrings: Your Stuff; bracelet: Your Stuff

Wanna know a secret?

This is my lazy Friday outfit. Luckily it doesn’t LOOK like the typical lazy college student too-big-sweatpants-and-a-tee outfit. I don’t have Friday classes, but I do get things done, like grocery shopping, so I still like to look presentable. I wear this skirt ALL THE TIME, and I really felt like wearing it today. Since it feels like lazy-wear to me, I dressed it up with a sparkly scarf.

Here’s my very flattering mess-up picture of the day. I seem to have balance issues.

AHH. There’s a shark munching on my shoulder!

What do you wear on lazy days? (I admit, I sometimes stay in my pajamas way too long if I have no obligations) What about to the grocery store?

Accessorize!

Well, I’m back to my grey ways! I have lots of pictures today! I really like this top. I usually wear it belted, but I decided to accessorize differently today.

Me tripping. I love the mess-up pictures. They’re always the best.

I’m off to eat dinner and finish writing a three act plot. Fiction is not my forte. :/

Question of the day: How do you accessorize? Do you switch things up or do you have a tried and true way you wear each outfit?

Test Time!

Sorry it’s so late today! I have a big scary test tomorrow that I’ve been studying for and I just finished watching an episode of Dr. Who. I also went to the opening of my friend’s art show today. She is super skilled.

sweater: Gap via Plato’s Closet(?); top: Anne Klein via Your Stuff; jeans: J. Crew via Plato’s Closet; shoes: Boutique 9; earrings: snatched from mom; necklace: chain from mom, pendant handmade by me

I made that pendant! I really like it – I wish I had time to do things like that more often. :( Well, I’m going to run off and brush my teeth, blow my nose, and go to bed now in hopes that the information I’ve studied will absorb. Ohhhh, I still have so much more to study tomorrow before the test.

Perpetual Summer

Today was HOT. This breezy dress was my attempt at dressing for the warmer weather, but wearing NAVY wasn’t really the best idea. I love navy and coral together so I wore a coral camisole and coral earrings to make the navy a bit more exciting.

dress: Loft via Your Stuff; camisole: Gap; shoes: Boutique 9 (Nine West) via Amazon sale; earrings: Your Stuff

In other news (apart from the weather, that is), I received 150% on a project today. I didn’t even know that was possible. I think I’ll like this teacher! I also have this song stuck in my head, thanks to a group of 4 that I spend entirely too much time with :)

A Grey Day

Today I finally got my haircut. It’s been so long…and my hair had gotten so long…that I now feel bald. It’s soooo short! Today’s outfit was just a random jumble of things I felt like wearing…a mint tank, my newspaper necklace, a few new things I’ve never worn before. My hairdresser complimented my outfit though, so I evidently did good. Oy, it’s been a long day.

sweater: Talbots via Your Stuff; tank: Gap via Your Stuff; jeans: Loft via Plato’s Closet; shoes: J. Crew via Your Stuff; necklace: handmade by me, beads and all

I tend to buy a lot of grey clothes. It’s just a color that appeals to me…it’s so flexible! Is there a particular color that you tend to buy a lot of?

P.S. – One of my favorite fashion bloggers also wore grey today. I love her outfit. What do you think?

Not for Puddles

I’ve had this outfit planned in my head for so long, but I haven’t been able to wear it because of constant rain! The skirt is so long…I didn’t want to have to worry about it dragging through puddles. The sun has finally returned, though (along with warmer weather – bleeh)!

top: F21 via Buffalo Exchange(?); sweater: J. Crew via Your Stuff; skirt: NY and Company via Uptown Cheapskate; shoes: old and very loved Nine West; earrings: NARTS Consignment Tour, Scottsdale, AZ; belt: Your Stuff

These pictures are so grainy! Time for a new camera…I wish. That and Wacom’s new Inkling.

So does the weather ever affect your outfit choice?

100 Years of Style

My outfit wasn’t blog-worthy today. Tonight was student organization night and I was working a table, so I was just wearing my club’s t-shirt.

SOOO, instead, here is a fun video I saw recently that sums up the evolution of (London) style in 100 seconds. It’s fun. Watch it:

Can you figure out which outfits are for which decades? Which one is your favorite? I think I like the outfits at :21 and :24 the best (the girl’s outfits).

Smart Stripes

Today is my first day of classes in my senior year of college – exciting! I wore a simple striped tee today, and I think a lot of other people had the same idea. I have seen so many people wearing grey striped shirts today! Here’s how I wore mine:

top: Loft via Plato’s Closet (?); jeans: Old Navy via Plato’s Closet; shoes: Nine West via Your Stuff; earrings: Your Stuff; Watch: Belk (?)

It’s chilly here for August – I think i’ll grab a sweater before my next class!

I like grey stripes, but what’s YOUR favorite pattern for back-to-school or end-of-summer? Let me know in the comments!
